IM Kansas 70.3

5:00:41 83rd Overall, 9th M25-29 AG Swim: 36:21- Seem slow- last year I was 35 at White Lake. I am a much better swimmer this year. Couple factors- there was a 1 minute run into transition that was added on. According to times the course was about 3 minutes long (Fastest pro's were doing it in 27 and 28, Alex McDonald did 33:20!) I was also in the last wave. Each wave had 100+. Plus I had the fastest swim in my AG at OTM, so I am not too worried about it. Im still confident in my swim. Bike:… Continue

6/9

Been in Kansas a week. I'm now one week out from IM Kansas 70.3. It's taken about a whole week for me to feel normal again. Running still doesn't feel great. But, it never has this spring. Last week I had a hard Oly race and then drove 17.5 hours to Kansas the next mourning. It took a toll on me. I also was feeling a little sick the last couple days. Feel better now. Race coarse recon: Swim: If there is wind the swim will be choppy. But, there will be current with us on the back stretch. Will b… Continue

Over the Mountain RR

2:32:30, 29th OA, 2nd AG Swim: felt good, got to wear the wetsuit. Followed Bobby a lot of the way to the turn buoy and then we swam next to each other all the way in. 26:something- 1st in AG... pretty stoked about that considering I've always been MOP swimmer. T1: though about taking off my wetsuit at the bottom of the hill because it would make more sense to run up the hill with out the rubber holding me down. But when I got there I just went. Plus Bobby was right behind me and I couldn't se… Continue

Memorial Day 5/26

Been doing some pretty good training lately. Did 75/6 brick last weekend and a shorter 33/3 this weekend. But I then went out later that evening and ran 6. This was not on the plan...I didn't have much legs today. I just feel like I dont have running legs or enough volume for Kansas. So Ive been adding some to every run. I also added the 6 on saturday. Swimming feels good Biking feels good Knee feels okay... Over the Mountain is this upcoming weekend, hope I'm fresh enough. Looking at the 9… Continue

5/14

Well, the last week saw me do a 70/2 brick and 12.25 run yesterday. Both went okay. The 70 wasn't very fast, 17.7 average, but it is hilly. I was happy to ride that long ride that long without much seat pain. Run was as expected, slow but steady. The 12.25 run was the longest to date. IT band did fine. My knees were a little sore just becasue I'm not used to running that long. I also did a hard swim in the morning. Usually I have the morning off before a long run. Did it in 1:41. So I guess I i… Continue

You are incorrect my friend, you suck. I will keep lifting weights....and training harder than you.....so I will not only beat you to the finish line, I will humble you with how good I look doing it. Then I will finish off your humiliation with an arm wrestling match and a three point contest. Am I supposed to be impressed that you ran 20 miles up the side of a mountain?
