Family obligations had me switch the w/e up which, due to the weather, turned out to be a good thing. I only had time for the 2 hour run on Saturday and had to skip the bike. But on Sunday I had about 10 members from my triclub join me for a few loops at Harriman.
It's early, it's hilly and it was windy. I don't think I'm the most popular ride coodinator in club history ;) Kidding aside. they all appreciate why Harriman is a special place to train and will hopefully join me again.
It was nice to have company for 3 of the 4 loops. Then I did a 50 minute out and back on LWD which is basically miles 4-10 of the HIM course that I'll be doing in May. Always nice to get the lay of the land. Still plenty of work to do but I like where I'm at. I'm thankful whenever I get to train at Harriman.
I was tired at the end for sure but still managed to get few things done around the house and even went food shopping with my wife. That's three weeks in a row and she even got "thanks for all you do flowers" mid-week (yeah they are in the budget!). Trying to keep it real on the homefront. A happy wife means a happy IM in training!
Looking forward to another solid week and then I've been called out of town for work as I look at the last week of the "pre-season". I'll have to roll with it, do what I can and then it's onto the "Competetive Season" Yahooo!
2 races in April - Hudson Valley 15k on 4/19 and Hook Mtn Half on 4/26. Time to work on that speed!!!
