It's not often in an election I feel inspired and genuine hope for our country. This election has been different. Our country is need change and we are the catalyst for that change. Our country needs new direction and new leadership. We are ready for a new beginning.

Although Super Tuesday was my chance to let my voice be heard, there are still many states that have not spoken. I reach out to states that will be voting in the upcoming weeks to elect a candidate that can reach across the aisle and provide the change our country desperately needs.

Obama represents a new and fresh start to what has become a stagnant political era. He has the energy and enthusiasm about his country that I believe all triathletes have about their sport.

I think it is unfair to say he does not value health and wellness when that is exactly what he is fighting for. Universal health care applies to all. True, he is a reformed smoker, like myself and so many other triathletes who chose a better path. Because I smoked in the past does not mean I don't care about health and wellness now. If anything, it gives me insight and better knowledge about the addiction of smoking.

Since you started the Longhorn 70.3 group, does that mean you will be racing it? Did you do the race before its name changed to 70.3? If so what are your thoughts on the course?

Considering that Obama is a smoker, how is it consistent with a triahlete’s lifestyle to form a fitness-based support group for someone who does not value health and wellness?
