I am a 39 year old 5-time Ironman Triathlete and coach. I've been doing triathlons since 1982 and have seen great changes in our sport. My goodness has it really been 25 years since I started all this?
My buds over here in the UK have really done it today!!! A double win for the TBB twins Bella Comerford and Stephen Bayliss at Ironman South Africa. Stephen actually smashed the course record and Bella recovered from a huge deficit following a puncture! I am sooooo pleased for them. I just don't have the words as it's been a long time coming. Congratulations to Bella and Stephen!
Just got my 4th episode up on iTunes for iMultisport Radio. Hopefully, we'll see it listed by tomorrow. This is a really cool episode. I got Richard Wharton on talking about training with Power. He really is a good authority on the proper use of Power meters for training. Whew....
Snow? In England? In April? I don't get it. Really.... I woke up this morning for my long run and there was about 3-4 inches of snow on the ground from last night's storm. It's Belgium all over again. I wonder what next week is going to be like.
Suffice it to say, I didn't run this morning. I planned on a long swim instead, but suddenly got hungry. What did I do instead? Went shopping of course. We actually went looking for baby stuff for the first time seriously. My god there are… Continue

To date I have not found a website that REALLY helps all areas of my triathlon life, that focuses on both UK and worldwide multi-sport issues in an easy, accessible and interactive manner. Or a website that holds an extensive amount of information, rather than having to use several to satisfy all my questions, kit, events and forums. Or one that allow triathletes live access to a worldwide and ‘real’ active community where we can ALL share our experiences with one another and develop our national & world wide friend networks.
Hopefully all this is about to change?
I feel strongly that the websites topic coverage is still very much limited and focused at the U.S and foreign (me thinks the websites country of origin) parts of the round ball we call ‘the world’. I am therefore about to embark on a marketing frenzy to promote the UK’s fantastic Triathlon community, racing scene and general talk & advice. WE SHOULD BE PROMOTING TO THE WORLD HOW GOOD THE UK IS TO RACE IN (minus the sun & add the cold = tough racing = a Challenge, and we all like one of those).
I believe that as our countries representatives/website membership increases, so will the relative information & discussions around things that matter and affect our training, racing and general everyday triathlon lifestyle.
I hope you will help us pioneer the Brits across the globe and make as many contacts worldwide as possible.
For more information, please go OPEN TRI UK GROUP to join group, create discussion or create a focussed UK group of your own.
Many thanks for you help. Let’s make The British Triathlon Scene the biggest and most informative and most group/s going!!!!
Kind Regards
Wayne ;@)

Excellent. Since you've done Germany before, I'd like to chat about logistics. I'm not worried about the course per se, more info about Frankfurt would be helpful. This will be my third IM, but first International IM. I couldn't justify the Intercontinental. I am also heading to France to catch some of the Tour and then on to Spain to run with the bulls. My direct e-mail is r.burns2 at gmail.com
You are doing Germany? Sweet. We need to hook up. I am travelling solo and am staying at some Ramada about a mile from the race site (or so I think). I know after the race I will want massive quantities of German beer.
