P.S. I hear I'm targeted by you for Wyckoff. Bring it on, Girl! I'll see you there! Train hard! :)
Yes, I'm well versed in training intensities, periodization, etc and had worked with Rich Strauss of Crucible Fitness as a coach. He was big into power training on the bike. Mike and Nate seem to take more of a Zen approach to training.
I'm 46 and will be looking to break 11:00 in placid, which means we can draft off eachother on long rides. I like to train up in Harriman. Most of my workouts are usually alone, in the wee hours of the morning, and I have a nice little bike studio set-up in the basement. (I need to train early in order to get the kids off to school - single dad, ya' know.) I've been in Ridgewood about 20 years - love it - and agree about the snootiness. FYI - that's not my style either.
Race pics are somewhere buried in the computer. I have some from IMLP I can put up.
Ta,

Yes, I'm doing LP '09. I need to knock off about 20 min to be hopeful of a roll-down spot. I've known Mike L. for a number of years and thought I'd tap in to the expertise. Not sure what to make of the first week - seems light. Even the free plan has a little over 8 hrs. I'll send him a note.
Did LP in '06 - been doing tri's/marathons for about 10 years. Took the past year or so off from the long stuff and will probably keep it limited to Oly's next year. Might try a half in the Spring and the SOS challenge in Sept.
You've posted nice pics and are obviously pretty competitive. Any other big plans for '09?

You are on for the NYRR races! Also there's this insane 30k that I enjoy doing up in Wurtsboro Ny in March. The first 5 miles are uphill! But the race is a blast. I'm driving up and you're more than welcome to come.
I am in PA. There are a few Glen Rocks around - I'll update my profile to show PA. Great time in your last IM -11:01! I'm hoping to break 12 this year at LP. Scott
But.... I am the world's slowest runner :( but we could always travel to some of the NYRR race together and meet up afterwards.
BTW, I am a HUGE fan of yours-followed the challenge, I have to tell you it was SO COOL to see you get the Kona slot!
Do you know Jimmy from Cadence?
