Thanks Donna,
I have been using the roller (feels like rolling on broken glass) and Ice up after every run. I think it is helping to keep it at a manageable level.
I will check out the "Arnica Gel" as well.
Thanks for the feedback.

I have completed 8 marathons in 5 years. Have you seen a Physical Therapist or Deep tissue massage? Do you use a "Pro Roller" foam roller for rolling out the knots that build up in your leg muscles. The roller will bring tears to your eyes, but I can imagine so would not being able to complete your goal. One last thing, a product called "Nourish Skin - Arnica gel" use it three times a day.
Best of luck,
Donna

Bumps, Lumps and other things that hurt in the night...

Question regarding keeping strong and in one piece during training.
I have have been working hard preparing (again) for my for my FIRST race this June. One again, I have been plagued by issues with my re-occurring "IT Band" knee issues. This is the same issue that sidelined me last year.

I have been doing well keeping my cardio high with swimming and bike miles , but am still having problems with keeping my running milage up.
Anyone have experience dealing with this chronic problem. I have 8 weeks to go and feel that I am weak on the run due to this problem.
