Don't laugh- I'm serious!
I've had the good fortune to be able to do almost all my swim training in the last few months in rivers (against the current) and lakes, in my wetsuit. I find even in the pool, but more so in open water, I get really nauseous during the swim. I started taking food every 20 minutes, and it totally went away! Everyone I talk to seems to think it's a weird idea.
Eating has always been my achilles heel. I hate eating during exercise, and if I don't start early, I won't ever start properly.
My wetsuit is sleeveless. I've been storing a gel flask down the side of my body. I can reach in, grab it, swim on my back and keep my kick going and down a couple gulps of gel. IMC is freshwater, so I can wash it down (it would be different if it were saltwater) not the best idea to drink lake water but it's not like we're not taking it in anyway!
I'm just starting this discussion to see if anyone else has ever had an experience with eating during the swim?
