OpenTri

This is my third season of Triathlon. I currently have mountain bike pedals and shoes on my road bike. This has work well so far for my Olympic tri races. I am doing a 300 mile ride in a 4 day span, looking into doing a 1/2 Ironman next year and think I might have to upgrade to road pedals and shoes. I am looking to spend up to a wopping $300.00 for both combined. I am looking at the Look Keo sprint pedals for about $130. I am not sure the shoe yet. My brother has the SIKI road shoe and loves them. Any input into this matter would be great. I was/am conserned that during a tri race, I would not be able to run my bike in and out of transition with the road shoes. I know, everyone does it so just suck it up! Any advise or input would be great. Train hard! Dave

Dave,

I ride Look KEO sprints and they're fine. Personally I like them because I can screw down the tension so my shoes don't fly off like they did when I rode speedplays.

Regarding shoes, I have Shimanos and they work fine. I have a pretty wide foot and they fit well.

Thanks so much for the info. I always read positives and negatives to every brand confusing me more. I am not an elite powerhouse rider so I think the Keo's will work nice. I'll also try on the Shimano shoes. Thanks again!

Dave
